Bebo’s crash diet

As the reports of Kareena Kapoor's collapse during the shoot of Tashan raise questions about her crash diet, dad Randhir Kapoor is quite upset with Bebo's weight obsession.

Voicing his concern, he says, "I have told her to stop the 'diet business.' She has become quite thin and must not lose more weight, but Bebo tells me that I should go on a diet because I am terribly overweight. Now what you can you say to that!"

It's common knowledge that Bebo is literally surviving on love and fresh air these days, with chhote nawab by her side. But has the daddy dearest accepted her beau? "If my daughter is happy with Saif Ali Khan, then I am happy too and my blessings are always there for my children."

While Dabboo is certainly worried about his younger daughter's health, he is also quite proud of her achievements and says happily, "I was thrilled when Bebo got the Filmfare Best Actress Award and my brother Rishi got the Lifetime Achievement Award, while my nephew Ranbir got the award for Best Male Debut. Now we are going to launch two films soon under the RK Films Banner with Bebo and Ranbir. Happy days are here again! My father and grandfather must be really proud watching our family from wherever they are!"

There seems to be no stopping Deepika Padukone

After starring in the Pepsi commercial with Shah Rukh Khan Ranbir Kapoor , Deepika has ousted Priyanka Chopra will be the new brand ambassador for the soft drink.

Sources inform Gullu that Pepsi has decided to replace Priyanka with Deepika after seeing her performance in her blockbuster Bollywood debut, Om Shanti Om.

Ever since, Deepika seems to have become a hotter favourite among filmmakers than Priyanka.

Priyanka had struck a deal with Pepsi two years ago, when she was a top actress, and had big projects like Rakesh Roshan's Krrish and Farhan Akhtar's Don in her kitty.

McCain wins Republican nomination

John McCain has won the Republican party's nomination to run for US president with projected poll wins in Ohio, Vermont, Rhode Island and Texas.

His closest rival, Mike Huckabee, has dropped out of the race and pledged to support Mr McCain's candidacy.

The Democratic contest remains on a knife-edge, with Hillary Clinton projected to win Ohio and Rhode Island.

Barack Obama is projected to win in Vermont, while in the Texas Democratic poll the result is too close to call.

Mrs Clinton's projected wins in Rhode Island and Ohio appear to have ended Mr Obama's month-long winning streak.

Mr McCain's victories in all four states take him over the threshold of 1,191 delegates needed to claim the candidacy at the party's national convention in September.

'Sophisticated' Child Porn Ring Busted

The FBI has arrested 12 Americans for their alleged participation in a sophisticated international child pornography ring that distributed more than 400,000 images and videos of child sexual abuse.

Authorities said they began infiltrating the group — whose members allegedly used encryption to communicate with each other and pass images back and forth undetected — in August 2006.

The 34-count indictment, unsealed Friday in Pensacola, Fla., describes conversations among the men accused of trading the pornography, which involved some victims as young as 5 years old. At least one defendant desribed the children in the images as being "heavily drugged."

One of the defendants went so far as to thank the other members of the group, according to the indictment.

"My thanks to you and all the others that, together, make this the greatest group of pedos to gather in one place," James Freeman, who authorities say went by the screen name "Mystikal," wrote, according to the indictment. "I'm honored just to be a part of it."

An FBI official told ABC News that the group maintained strict secrecy, using sophisticated technology.

TONE CHANGED OF US ELECTIONs

Over the last few days, the tone of the Democratic contest seems to have shifted, with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign more buoyant and Senator Barack Obama’s more defensive.

That shift may be traceable in part to the “Saturday Night Live” show on Feb. 23, when, back from the writers’ strike, it mocked the news media for treating Mr. Obama more gently than it treated Mrs. Clinton.

Mrs. Clinton amplified that view later in a debate, and her aides stoked it all week, practically browbeating reporters.

Now comes evidence that the publicizing by the Clinton campaign and the news media may have helped flip the coverage as it questioned Mr. Obama more aggressively.

Mr. Obama was the subject of 69 percent of all campaign articles last week, from Feb. 25 to March 2, and Mrs. Clinton was the subject of 58 percent of articles about the election, according to a study by the Project for Excellence in Journalism.
